It’s Not That I Don’t Love You

It’s not that I don’t love you,
but the way you loved me is unsettling,
like a knife that cuts right through,
It is both intriguing and tiring.

It’s not that I don’t love you,
but your confidence is overwhelming,
and surely something I never knew,
though sometimes it is soothing.

It’s not that I don’t love you,
because if you knew what lies inside,
then you would know everything holds true,
I had wanted to make you my bride.

It’s not that I don’t love you,
I know you’ve given your utmost,
it’sΒ justΒ me who doesn’t know what to do,
because I’m afraid of what it’ll cost.

I think. I feel. I write. Welcome to my reality.

  1. You know what image I get from this poem? A man who feel insecure and has fall out of love so many times. It end up him thinks too much about something and afraid to do something he really want to do. When he meet this girl who sounds almost perfect, his insecurities rise to the point he’s not comfortable in the relationship.

I’m sorry if it’s out of the real story behind this. I just want to say something that come on my mind. Always looking forward to your new writing, keep it up πŸ™‚

    1. Yes, that is true. And lots of other meanings too. Because I always believed that the meaning of a poem is how we readers understand it. Not just what the writers intended to convey. Thanks for your encouragement and for commenting! πŸ™‚

  2. I absolutely love this! Sometimes it’s not you, really, love can be terrifying and sometimes we don’t know what to do with it
