Crushed

I want your voice in my phone

To wake me up at night

Before the nightmares come

Numbing me to the wonders dreams may bring

The fright would be enough to curdle milk

Solidifying the masses

Into a suspended belief

A dairy allergy

hard to swallow

I want your voice in my phone

To wake me up at night

Because the voices in my head speak too loud to allow sleep

And I’m lost within folds of hopes and wishes

I want your voice in my phone

Your dwindling light beckons a “call me first”

So I can hear her

I'm here.
